Tong Sui tightly grasped the bed sheet, murmuring, “Mm.”
There was a large floor-to-ceiling window in the room, with snowflakes falling outside, lonely and cold, while warmth surged inside, belonging to the long-awaited intimacy of the two.
Tong Sui hadn’t brought any clothes, and after showering, he was wearing Chi Xingyu’s clothes. The originally loose fit looked even baggier on his slender frame.
Chi Xingyu could no longer suppress his longing for Tong Sui; he moved closer, wrapped his arms around his waist, and pushed him back onto the bed, greedily inhaling the scent on his skin.
“I’m really so happy you came to watch my match. Did you know I always save the best seats for you during my competitions?”
“I really miss you during the game. I had bought tickets to sit close, planning to find you right after.”
“I never expected you to actually show up.”
Tong Sui tilted his head to gaze at the unfamiliar ceiling, his ears filled with Chi Xingyu’s tender words. It seemed the heating in the room was a bit too warm; otherwise, why would he feel so hot all over, his head slightly dizzy from it?
He heard the sound of something shifting at the bedside cabinet.
Tong Sui lazily turned his head and saw what Chi Xingyu was holding. “How could there be…”
“This is a hotel,” Chi Xingyu said as he opened the package. “I prepared this while I was washing up.”
It had been a while since they had been this intimate, and Tong Sui’s face flushed slightly. He whispered, “Is it okay? Don’t you have anything to do tomorrow?”
“Mm,” Chi Xingyu leaned down and kissed his lips, “Nothing is more important than this.”
…
The snow outside fell heavily into the night, blanketing everything in white. Chi Xingyu said in a husky voice, “H City doesn’t usually see snow. It’s the first time we’re watching it together.”
“I want to watch every snowfall with you from now on, okay?”
Tong Sui’s eyes were teary, and he dazedly responded with a soft “Mm.”
When dawn broke, the snow had stopped.
Everything finally settled down.
Chi Xingyu held the already-asleep Tong Sui, his restless heart finally found its home.
After spending a day together, Tong Sui had to return to class, while Chi Xingyu had four days of world championship competitions ahead.
As Tong Sui left, he wore Chi Xingyu’s coat and wrapped a gray scarf around his neck. When he returned to the classroom, feeling hot, he took off the scarf.
He could distinctly feel more gazes landing on him.
His roommate leaned over and whispered, “You and Chi God had quite a fun time, huh…”
Tong Sui was bewildered. Upon seeing the various marks reflected in the mirror his roommate handed, his eyes instantly turned red, and he quickly wrapped himself tightly in his scarf.
After class, some classmates heard that the usually good-tempered Tong Sui was hiding in a corner, blushing as he scolded the person on the other end of the phone: “Didn’t we say not to leave any marks?”
The person on the other side responded quite politely, “I’m sorry, I forgot. Please don’t be angry.”
Tong Sui huffed softly.
Chi Xingyu said, “Can I make you a bit happier by winning the championship?”
In three days, during the world championship, almost all the boys in the dorm were glued to the live broadcast. The EV team representing their district lived up to expectations and once again claimed the championship title.
Cheers and excited shouts filled the dormitory.
Just then, Tong Sui’s phone rang. He stepped outside to answer it and heard the roaring applause from the live event, clearly still at the competition site.
“How did you manage to call so quickly?”
Chi Xingyu replied, “I wanted to share this moment with you.”
Amidst the noisy sounds from both ends, Tong Sui softly said, “Chi God, congratulations on winning the championship; you’re really amazing.”
That one compliment was worth a thousand praises.
The next morning.
Chi Xingyu didn’t attend the following interviews or live events, flying straight back to the country to arrive at Tong Sui’s building.
When Tong Sui woke up and saw his message, he was startled and hurriedly changed clothes before heading down.
Chi Xingyu still wore the team outfit from the match the night before.
Having stood outside for too long, he was covered in the cold frost and wrapped Tong Sui in his arms when they met.
Tong Sui said, “Why didn’t you call me? Just standing there like that—what if I couldn’t wake up?”
“Then I would just keep waiting.”
Suddenly, Chi Xingyu reached into his pocket, pulled something out, and placed it in Tong Sui’s hand.
Tong Sui looked down to see a bank card.
“…?”
Chi Xingyu said, “This is the prize money I won from the match. It’s not a lot, but I want to give it to you.”
Tong Sui refused to accept it; Chi Xingyu insisted it was for safekeeping, determined to hand over the card, which held more than just money.
It was more a testament to his glory.
After the competition period ended, they suddenly found more time together. While Tong Sui was in class, Chi Xingyu would also study the remaining exams.
After classes, Chi Xingyu would wait for him in the classroom hallway so they could eat together, then walk on the campus playground after evening study sessions.
Tong Sui occasionally livestreamed, but the streams were no longer just about gaming; they shared more about their daily life.
Days flowed quietly like this, and in the blink of an eye, it was the next year.
Tong Sui had moved up to his sophomore year.
Chi Xingyu had smoothly passed his exams and officially became a freshman at H University, now Tong Sui’s junior.
After graduation, Tong Sui found a nondescript small company.
The reason that attracted him was simple:
This company avoided the cutthroat competition, had no 996 work hours, and there were quite a number of vacation days.
For the following years, he continued receiving the bonuses from Chi Xingyu; he never checked the amount, until one day, Chi Xingyu decided to retire.
It seemed to be the fate of every professional player.
Chi Xingyu might have once felt lost and in pain because it was the most important stage of his life, the competition he loved the most.
He didn’t even want to think that he would have this day too.
